Comprehensive Eye Care

You can think of your optometrist at Blacksburg Eye Associates as the "primary care provider" for your eyes.  Primary eye care includes a comprehensive examination of the visual system and ocular health.  Our examination is designed to detect many diseases and disorders of the visual system, including signs of related systemic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia / high cholesterol to name a few.

The American Academy of Optometry and The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends regular comprehensive examinations every one to two years, or more often when indicated.  Click here for more information from the AOA regarding eye examinations and 'people at risk' who may need more frequent examination.

Full Service Optical and Lab  

Blacksburg Eye Associates has an optical with over 500 glasses and sunglasses.  Whether you are using an in-house prescription from Dr. Dovie, an outside prescription from another doctor, or just shopping for a new pair of sunglasses, Blacksburg Eye Associates has you covered.

Our optical staff is trained to help you find the best eye wear to suite your needs.  Our services including specialty frames and lenses like eye wear to help relieve computer-vision-syndrome, reduce glare from driving at night, and ANSI rated safety frames and Rec Specs(c) eye wear from Liberty Sport.
